Getting a new passport
A- New Passports
• Lebanese Citizens living in the Federal Republic of Nigeria may apply for a Lebanese passport through the Embassy.
• Applications for new passports will be sent to Lebanon by diplomatic pouch and returned to the Embassy in the same way or via DHL (paid by applicant) see below for more information.
• The new passports are issued by the Directorate General of the General Security in Lebanon.
Required documents for applying for a new Passport (Navy Blue type):
1. A Lebanese I.D. or recent extract of civil status (Ikhraj Kayd) date of issue must not exceed 10 years.
2. If applying to replace your passport, provide the passport to be replaced.
3. A copy of all documents requested above.
4. Two recent color photos (Size 4, 3 x 3, 5; cm, white background, showing the face from 70% to 80%, and not drawn from another photo).
5. For applicants under 18 years of age, both parents should be present.
6. Forms must be filled out in person at the Embassy.
7. Fees paid in cash: One Year $60 | Five Years $300 | Ten Years $600
B- Passport Renewal Requirements:
1. An application form.
2. A Lebanese I.D. or recent extract of civil status (Ikhraj Kayd) date of issue must not exceed 10 years.
3. One recent photo (Size 4, 3 x 3, 5; cm, white background, showing the face from 70% to 80%, and not drawn from another photo).
4. Presence of both parents and the child at the embassy for applicants under 18 years old.
5. Applicants must apply for a new passport at the same time.
6. Fees paid in cash: One Year $60
N:B The Embassy can renew the Navy Blue passports only, and for one year, provided that the applicant submit at the same time a request for a new Passport.
C- Lost Passports
A Lost passport should be reported immediately to the local authorities and the actual report is required in order to apply for a new passport.
• In addition to the requirements for a new passport, please include:
1. A photocopy of the lost passport (if available).
2. A letter signed by the applicant describing how he/she lost their passport.
3. A Lebanese I.D. or recent extract of civil status (Ikhraj Kayd).
4. 4 photos (Size 4, 3 x 3, 5; cm, white background, showing the face from 70% to 80%, and not drawn from another photo).
D- Passport via DHL
1. Go to http://fasttracklb.dhl.com
2. On the home screen, click on Choose Embassy or General Consulate tab.
3. Select the Country - Nigeria from the drop down list, and select the Embassy or the General Consulate, that is closest to you and that you will be visiting to apply for your passport.
4. At the top select Main Menu (Lebanese), make sure to select the correct menu, choosing the wrong menu item will result in delivering your shipment to the wrong destination.
5. Select Document Type, and proceed to fill in the applicant information.
6. Shipping charges will be quoted once you have entered your information and number of applicants. Follow step by step until payment by Visa or Mastercard. (Shipping charges do not cover any fees charged by the Lebanese Embassy/ General Consulate for the passport renewal)
7. After successful payment, print the following DHL generated documents and bring with you to the Embassy of General Consulate:
• A Checklist What to do next (English and Arabic)
• A Transaction Receipt. Proof of Payment and Shipping Documents Details (2 copies) The Embassy or General Consulate will ask you for the Transaction Receipt as proof of payment of the shipping charges to DHL. Keep one copy for your records.
• An Applicant(s) List. List containing the Names of all the applicants in your request
• An OUTBOUND Shipping Documents (2 Airwaybill copies and 1 Archive copy). Shipping Documents that are to be used from the Embassy or General Consulate to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Lebanon.
• A RETURN Shipping Documents (2 Airwaybill copies and 1 Archive copy). Shipping Documents that are to be used once your documents are finalized by the authorities from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Lebanon to the Embassy or General Consulate
•An Invoice for your RETURN Shipment. Some countries requires an invoice for the RETURN Document. (i.e. Passport)
8. Bring the printed documents with you to the Embassy or General Consulate when you go to submit your application. The generated documents are only used for the transportation of the application.
The following are required to complete your passport renewal application:

THE EMBASSY OR GENERAL CONSULATE WILL CONTACT DHL TO COLLECT THE CONSIGNMENT.
